É quinta feira ao final da tarde e as ruas de Londres estão a encher-se de bêbedos. Uma das coisas em que reparei - com alguma repugnância, confesso - quando cá vim da outra vez foi precisamente o facto de as pessoas beberem como loucas.
Nos passeios e à frente das casas, acumulam-se os sacos de lixo do dia, porque, por uma suposta questão de segurança, não há contentores nem se faz reciclagem.
Durante o dia trovejou, à tarde esteve um sol radiante e agora chove novamente.
Sou mais uma de muitos estrangeiros a viver nesta cidade e, pouco a pouco, vou reconhecendo as ruas à minha volta. Começo a sentir-me pronta para isto.
It's thursday evening and the streets of London are now getting full of drunk people. One of the things I noticed - with a little disgust, I must say - when I came here the last time was that many people drink like crazy, around here.
On the sidewalk and in front of the houses, there are now piles of the daily trash bags because, for a so called security reason, there are no garbage containers and people don't recycle.
I am one of many foreigners living in this city and, step by step, I am getting used to the streets around here. I'm starting to feel a little bit ready for this.
